MF DOOM’s wife announced on his social media last week that the rapper, MF DOOM has passed away. He was 49 According to the statement from his wife Jasmine, the rapper born Daniel Dumile died on October 31. His cause of death was not revealed.
In an Instagram post. DOOM’s wife posted a heartfelt message to her deceased husband. “The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover, and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught, and given to me, our children, and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give them another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off,” the post read. “Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be. My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family, and the planet.”
DOOM, born in London and raised in Long Island, first popped on the scene of Zev Love X, as a member of the rap group KDM with his brother, DJ Subroc, and friend, Rodan. Rodan was eventually replaced by Onyx the Birthstone Kid.
After DOOM’s brother was killed in 1993, he took a break from rap before re-emerging as MF Doom, his masked superhero alter ego. In 1999, he released his first album Operation: Doomsday. In 2004, he dropped the classic Mm.. Food. The same year he dropped Madvillainy, his critically acclaimed collaboration with producer Madlib.
