From taking jump shots on the court to slaying verses on the mic, DC The Don is an undeniable artist who should not go unrecognized. If you don’t know by now, DC The Don, whose real name is Dijon Davis, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
At age 16, he moved to Los Angeles with his father while pursuing his AAU basketball career. In 2017 Don decided to give up on basketball to go after his true passion for music. DC The Don emerged into the rap game in 2017 when he released his first single, “Everything IK.” Which was also featured in the Big Baller Brand’s first sneaker commercial for Lonzo Ball.
Because he collaborated with Lonzo Ball, he immediately gained media attention and was featured in Complex, Bleacher Report, and New York Times.
Since the release of DC’s first single, he has released over 60 songs and 10 official videos, including the single “GMFU,” the most popular video on World Star Hip Hop, which went from 1.5 million views in 2018 to 3.2 million views in 2020.
In 2017 DC released his first LP titled “Purple Hearted Lion,” featuring the top singles “GMFU,” “Walk Thru,” and “Freddy Krugar.” Following the release of ‘Purple Hearted Lion”, he released 9 more projects, including “F*CK Hell,” “DC Friday’s,” and his latest LP titled “Come As You Are.”
“Come As You Are” was originally released on August 7, 2020 with 13 tracks. However, November 20, 2020, DC The Don released the deluxe edition with 19 tracks, featuring his latest single, “Worst Day,” produced by Astroboy and Theo Zim.
