DJ Scheme Enlists His Friends For Star-Studded Debut Album, ‘FAMILY’

DJ Scheme’s ambitious debut album “Family” is here. The album features some of the DJ, producer, and artist’s closest friends, who also happen to be some of the game’s hottest rappers.

The project consists of 17 tracks with features from Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, Joey Badass, Skrillex, and Lil Mosey. The recent single “Soda,” which has amassed over 2.5 million Spotify streams, sees the unlikely pairing of Ski Mask the Slump God and Cordae over a DJ Scheme and Take A Daytrip piano-driven beat.

The project title is personal to Scheme and sees the album exploring “how creative partnerships can create deep familial connections and reinforce a sense of community.”

“I grew up with divorced parents,” Dj Scheme said when he announced the album. “I’ve lost a lot of family growing up, and I’ve lost people my whole life. So that’s really why I really named my album “Family.” Because family is everything to me. That’s the only thing I have.”

“Family” follows Scheme’s “Preseason EP,” which dropped in 2019. The EP saw features from frequent collaborators Ski Mask the Slump God, Lil Yachty, and Danny Towers.

DJ Scheme, 23, started as wifisfuneral’s tour DJ before linking with Ski Mask the Slump God and XXXTentacion. Since then, he has toured the world with the likes of the late Juice WRLD, Robb Bank$, and Fat Nick.

Scheme has also become known for his Rolling Loud festival DJ sets and co-hosting RL’s “The Rotation” talk show.
