Eminem has opened up about learning to rap again following his 2007 drug overdose that nearly claimed his life. In a recent interview, the hip-hop veteran addressed a leaked track where he sided with Chris Brown in his domestic violence case with then-girlfriend Rihanna.
On the unreleased version of B.o.B.’s “Things Get Worse,” he rapped, “Of course I side with Chris Brown, I’d beat a bitch down too.” The track did not make the lineup for his 2009 “Relapse” album.
“Like the rhyme schemes didn’t even sound like familiar to me. So I was caught off-guard too. I was like, ‘What the f**k, I said that?’ That was during the early stages of the Relapse record that I was working on.”
The 48-year-old now regrets the bar and says that the record was recorded during his time trying to relearn his rapping abilities after his lethal Vicodin overdose.
“You know, a lot of times, especially with the Relapse record, when I first started learning how to rap again, because of the drug situation that I went through and having to relearn a lot of things, that was one of those things that it was like, ‘Well if it rhymes, say it.'”
Eminem has been in the news recently regarding his rumored beef with fellow rap vet Snoop Dogg. On his recently released “Music To Be Murdered By: Side B,” the Detroit rapper took shots at Snoop on the record “Zeus.” The record is said to stem from Em turning down a collaboration with the Cali OG, which blossomed into a feud between the two.
