On Sunday night, Lil Durk dropped his latest single, “Backdoor,” along with the visual. The beloved 28-year-old Chicago MC pays homage to his fallen friend in the video by rocking Von’s signature diamond-encrusted O’Block chain. King Von’s adlibs can also be heard on the track.
The day following the highly anticipated release, “Backdoor” had already attracted 3.6 million Youtube views and entered the top 10 on the U.S. Apple Music chart.
Lil Durk has kept a relatively low profile since the November 6th murder of King Von, who was shot during an altercation with members of the rapper and rival Quando Rondo’s entourage outside of an Atlanta hookah lounge.
Von was rushed to Grady Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
After deactivating his Instagram profile shortly after posting a tribute to his friend. Durk re-emerged on December 16th when images from his video shoot with Pooh Shiesty began to hit the internet. Days later, he announced the release of “Backdoor.”
