“I Got A Story To Tell,” is an intimate look at one of the greatest, most influential rappers of all time by those who knew him best. It’s a tale of the Brooklyn rapper’s rapid rise to fame and the tragic ending to his life. That left the hip-hop community in disarray. 20 years after his death, the prolific storyteller remains a staple in the rap world.
Directed by Emmett Malloy, this intimate documentary features rare footage filmed by his best friend Damion “D-Roc” Butler. Along with new interviews with his closest family and friends revealing a side of Christopher Wallace that the world never knew.
I Got A Story To Tell is executive produced by Sean Combs, Voletta Wallace, Mark Pitts, Stanley Buchthal, and Emmett and Brendan Malloy.
Christopher “B.I.G.” Wallace was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Los Angles, California, in 1997. Biggie’s death is associated with the highly publicized East Coast-West Coast feud between Sean “Diddy” Combs New York-based Bad Boy Entertainment and Suge Knight’s LA-based Death Row Records.
The feud was sparked after Biggie’s former friend Tupac Shakur was shot five times in New York. Shakur blamed BIG and Diddy for the shooting. 7-months prior to BIG’s death, Shakur was gunned down in a similar fashion. As he rode in the passenger seat with Knight along the Las Vegas strip. Both murders have yet to be officially solved.
“I Got A Story To Tell” will feature Bad Boy C.E.O. Sean “Diddy” Combs and Biggie’s ex-wife Faith Evans. The mother and grandmother of Biggie, Voletta Wallace, and Gwendolyn Wallace. Plus Lil Cease, Mister Cee, Damion “D Roc” Butler, and BIG.s manager Mark Pitts.
