Just when it appeared that rapper NLE Choppa was on the right path, it seems he may have fallen back into his old habits.
On Sunday, March 28th, the “Shotta Flow” rapper was arrested in Davie, Florida, on charges of Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Burglary Unoccupied Structure Unarmed, Possession of Cannabis 20 Grams Less/Synth Cann 3 GMs Less and Possession of Alprazolam (Xanax).
The 18-year-old rapper, whose real name is Bryson Lashun Potts, told Davie Police that he was trying to retrieve a watch from a car inside of a tow yard. The vehicle in question was previously towed during an unrelated incident. However, the arrest report says that the car was also not in the tow yard that Choppa showed up to.
A Glock 27 with an extended magazine and an AK-47 Draco pistol were located during a tow inventory of the vehicle. Inside the Ford Expedition that Choppa arrived at the tow yard in, police found grams of marijuana and three and a half Xanax pills.
In recent months, after facing domestic abuse allegations by his child’s mother, Choppa has used his social media to rebrand himself completely. Back in September, he vowed to quit rapping about violence and frequently posts about living a positive and healthy life. He also expressed his support for rapper Famous Dex entering into drug rehabilitation and called out 300 Entertainment for failing to help their struggling signee. Considering all of the positivity he has exuded lately, his arrest comes as a surprise to fans who believed that he was straightening up his image.
As of Tuesday (March 30th), the Memphis star remained at the Broward County Sherrif’s Office on a $4,500 bond.
