After weeks of speculation, Quavo and Saweetie, one of hip-hop’s most prominent couples, confirmed their breakup.
Rumors swirled in late February that the two had gone their separate ways. However, images on their social media seemed to confirm that the couple was still going strong before fans noticed that they’d unfollowed one another on Instagram. Shortly after an appearance on Justin Laboy and Justin Combs Revolt talk show, “Respectfully Justin,” the “My Type” raptress took to Twitter on March 19th to announce the split.
“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character,” Saweetie wrote.
Many began to speculate that her appearance on “Respectfully Justin” contributed to the breakup, though she made it clear that their romance had fizzled long before. Justin Combs and Saweetie dated in the past. During the show, she spoke on the topic of threesomes and relationships, which fans pointed out may be inappropriate to discuss with an ex-boyfriend.
“Presents don’t band-aid scars, and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women,” Saweetie added to her tweet, confirming that infidelity had taken place.
The Migos star did not take long to respond to his former lover’s revelation. Quavo, too, took to Twitter to give his outlook on the breakup.
“I had love for you, and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”
The 27-year-old beauty responded simply by saying, “Take Care.”
After their relationship had officially come to a public end, another rumor brewed. News outlets began to report that the “Good Drank” star sent a tow truck to his ex-boo’s home to retrieve the Bentley that he gifted her for Christmas. However, TMZ quickly shut the rumor down, with sources confirming that it was a lie.
The couple had been together since 2018.
