Rapper Rich Da Kid, born Dimitri Leslie Roger can’t seem to get a break. The Queens, New York artist was arrested at LAX airport for possession of a loaded weapon, four months after he was removed from a flight for allegedly reeking of marijuana and being intoxicated. Rich was later released from custody following his arrest.
According to TMZ, on Monday, March 15, around 1 p.m., Rich Da Kid was preparing to board a flight at LAX when a loaded firearm was found in his carry-on luggage as he was going through security. Rich Da Kid’s recent arrest is just another issue added to the list of problems he is already facing, including the three lawsuits he faced in 2020.
In February, the “Plug Walk” rapper was facing a lawsuit for $3.5 million by Blueprint Artist Management for allegedly breaching his contract. He was later ordered to pay the management group $1.1 million.
Three months later Rich Da Kid was sued for $234k by Peter Marco from Extraordinary Jewels of Beverly Hills for unpaid jewelry. Unfortunately, in October the father of three faced another lawsuit with Fashion Nova for 2.1 million for allegedly violating the terms of his contract. Rich Da Kid almost lost his life when he was robbed and shot outside a studio in West Hollywood, California in February 2019 and in June 2018 he was hospitalized following a home invasion where he was severely beaten at the woman’s home he was dating at the time.
On the flip side of things, Rich Da Kid released a seven-track EP, “Lucky 7” in January. Featuring artists Da Baby, SipTee, Lil Mosey, and Rubi Rose. In March 2020 he released his third studio album Boss Man featuring London on da Track, Youngboy Never Broke Again. Lil Baby, Future, Nicki Minaj, Quavo, and more.
