Produced by Canadian producer Bijan Amir, “Blackberry Zap” is the latest release from Pressa’s upcoming EP, Gardner Express.
Destined to become one of Toronto’s most promising artists, Pressa makes sure to apply pressure to his competition. The Canadian artist announced he will drop his new EP, titled “Gardner Express,” on December 11th.
The title of the seven-track project is a play on words referencing Pressa’s last name (Gardner) and Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway, an East-West thoroughfare that connects most of the Canadian metropolis with the rest of Ontario.
With co-signs from fellow successful Canadian artists like and Drake and The Weeknd, Pressa is ready to climb up the ladder of stardom.
Growing up in Driftwood, an area in Toronto that is known to be rough and impoverished, Pressa was often forced to result to desperate measures in order to support himself as a mere teenager. Some of those acts caused Pressa to be sent to a juvenile hall, where he learned how to rap by writing pages of lyrics.
Once released, Pressa quickly began to get recognition from his city with his unfiltered lyrics on hits like “Wass Gang” and “Canada Goose,” which has close to 17 million Spotify streams.
Since opening up for Drake’s 2017 Boy Meets World Tour, Pressa has been working nonstop to further advance his career.
