In January 2020, the tragic death of Floyd Sullivan, step-father of both Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi of the platinum selling rap group Rae Sremmurd, was reported. The unfortunate story played out with the news that the duo’s younger brother was in fact the killer and in custody to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Swae Lee responded in a tweet that the world “let’s me keep some compassion” as the two dealt with the loss in a personal manner. Over a year later he is opening up about the situation in a segment from his Snapchat series, Swae Meets World, addressing the challenges of dealing with such a complex family struggle.
“My dad, my pops, yeah he passed away recently. I have three brothers, allegedly the police say my youngest brother, he shot my dad, like killed my dad,” he states in the clip. “And it’s like, my brother killed my dad. That sh*t is like, unbelievable like you can’t even imagine like, it’s like something out of a movie, you know. I’m still dealing with it like I don’t even know how to deal with it all the way completely,”.
It has not been revealed if Slim Jxmmi will be speaking out regarding the incident but we want to keep them both in our thoughts as the younger brother who committed the act, Michael Sullivan has now been formally charged with first-degree murder and faces life in prison if convicted. They can all be seen in numerous photos together over the years and it seems they all had a great relationship.
