Young Devyn is crashing the Brooklyn drill scene. The 19-year-old rapper has continued to climb up the ranks in the male-dominated drill genre. Her latest track, ‘Act Bad,’ offers the same gritty production and lyrics that made the late Pop Smoke a force to be reckoned with.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this and now the moment has arrived,” Young Devyn says in reference to ‘Act Bad.’ “Baby GOAT season is finally here and it’s time for me to act bad and let y’all know I’m next!”
What makes Devyn’s lyrics unique. Besides being rough, raw, and hard-hitting. She reframes from using cuss words. “For me, I look at rap being spiritual,” says Young Devyn. “When I write. After every song, after every rap, I pray about it.”
2019, Young Devyn became the youngest emcee to ever participate in the BET’s Hip Hop Awards Cypher.
‘Straight To It,’ another track where she shoots off automatic lyrics. Only proves that the young emcee is gunning for the crown. I can almost guarantee that if Pop Smoke was still here. the two would be on a track together. Her demeanor and the flow of her lyrics are certainly there.
You can’t deny the raw talent. And that’s exactly what Young Devyn is. Raw talent.
