Young Thug is at the center of immense criticism after seemingly downplaying Jay-Z’s legendary musical catalog in a recent interview.
During Sunday’s episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo267, Thug said that he had bigger hit records that the Roc-A-Fella founder. He explained that “When I perform, I got 30-40 songs that the whole stadium gonna know” He goes on to add, “Jay-Z ain’t got 30 songs like that… the whole stadium finna sing.”
Thugger cleaned it up immediately after, saying, “I’m just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them bitches,” Thug added, implying he was speaking more in general. “I’m not just literally saying him.”
Social media users dragged the “Check” rapper once his comments hit the net, causing him to trend on Twitter. The Atlanta artist took to his Instagram on Tuesday to further clear up his comments on the podcast.
“Don’t have Jay-Z on me cause of this internet shit,” Thug said on his Instagram Story. “I was talking to [sic] fast but y’all know what I meant.”
Jay-Z, of course, has not commented on the interesting comparison.
